The 8th inning project symbolizes resilience
Creating this project, I reflected on my past present and future
it questions my love and my passion
for this thing we call hip-hop that is now 50 years old and so far eight years in it feels like this is one of the moments where I challenge myself and strive to be the greatest I could be
Like legends before me that laid the blueprint
so I can do the same
The overall project is a community piece as well from the cover to the rollout to the music speaks mon my adolescent phase to now
The eighth inning is a reminder to not give up I gave up before in baseball so this is
me paying homage to a sport I once played
And a place called Scheffer Rec that helped raise many friends and family of mine
I know the feeling of giving up and giving up on music is something that I don’t want to do I don’t want to experience that feeling of defeat, so this is me, encouraging myself and others on this journey with me to keep going
because people world wide from the ghettos
Suffer from loss and trauma & carrying on tradition for those no longer with us is something I strive to do , it features well respected artists from my city .. it’s rooted in realness , fly shit , pain and luv , with the bases being loaded it’s time to send the squad to greatness (home)
